Suno V6: picking a model, and what happened to V5.5
Model choice is one of the few Suno decisions that wastes credits when you get it wrong. The short version: generate with V6, because the older lines are gone.
The three V6 variants

When in doubt, stay on the default; it is the most consistent.
Why V5.5 is not an option
V5.5 and every earlier model were retired with the V6 launch: they cannot generate new songs. Existing tracks stay in your library and can still be played, shared, and used as source material for covers and remixes.
What happens to older songs
Nothing is re-rendered. If you want the V6 character on an older track, use it as a source and generate a new version - you end up with both, not a replacement.

Yes, most clearly in vocal clarity, arrangement depth and how well long sections hold together.
Do older songs still download?
Yes. Downloads depend on your plan allowance, not on which model generated the track.
Does V6 Wild cost more?
Not on pay-per-generation pricing - all three variants cost the same per generation.
