The Suno free plan: how much you get, and where it stops
Free is for testing, not for producing. Three numbers decide that, and one rule catches most people out.
What a free account gets
A daily generation allowance that refreshes each day, and 7 trial downloads for the life of the account - they do not reset. Paid plans move to roughly 20 (Pro) and 60 (Premier) downloads per month; Premier plus Studio is unlimited.
The rule that matters: no commercial rights
Trial downloads are personal use only. Client work, platform distribution, ads and video soundtracks need a paid plan, and the rule counts songs you generated before the limit existed.

Does the free allowance reset daily?
Generation does; the 7 downloads do not - they are a lifetime trial allowance.
If I upgrade, do my free songs become commercial?
No. Commercial rights attach to songs generated while a paid plan was active.
Is pay-per-generation more expensive?
Only if you generate at subscription scale. For occasional or batch-by-need work it is usually cheaper.
